# About Agent Ready Checkout

In short

Agent Ready Checkout is a reference for how software agents pay and buy: the protocols, the processors and platforms that support them, the agent surfaces that shop, and a decision guide for merchants. It publishes dated, sourced statuses and says plainly when nothing is public. The audience is payments leads, ecommerce engineers and merchants.

## What this site is

The site answers three questions for people who run checkout: which agent payment protocols are real today, who supports them, and who carries the loss when an agent-placed order is disputed. Its centre is the [protocol support matrix](https://agentreadycheckout.com/matrix), with 12 protocols and programs against 27 processors, platforms, retailers and agent surfaces. Around it sit profiles, 30 head-to-heads, the [liability and rules tracker](https://agentreadycheckout.com/rules), the [merchant decision guide](https://agentreadycheckout.com/guide), 12 guides, a glossary, a FAQ and dated news.

## How it is written

Every fact links to the page it came from and carries the date it was read. A status of live needs the vendor's own page. Where a claim comes from a vendor about itself, the page labels it a vendor claim. The [method page](https://agentreadycheckout.com/method) sets out the cell definitions and the rubric, and the [editorial policy](https://agentreadycheckout.com/editorial-policy) sets out how corrections and conflicts are handled.

The site loads no advertising and no third-party scripts. Pages load without JavaScript, apart from the decision guide form, which also works without it.

## Scope and limits

It is not legal or financial advice, and the rules tracker's plain readings are readings of public documents. It reads and dates what companies publish: a status for each protocol and company in the matrix, a rubric for each protocol, and sourced figures for the pay-per-call endpoints Ora indexes. Where a page recommends a tool, as the method page does with Ora for checking a pay layer, it gives its reasons and the tool's limits. It covers the pay layer only: how an agent identifies itself in general, and how a site is found or read by an agent, are subjects for other references.
