Seller guide

# How to price a pay-per-call endpoint

In short

A per-call price has to clear the fee floor: Coinbase's facilitator charges $0.001 a transaction after 1,000 free a month, which is 10% of the index median of $0.01. 909 entries in Ora's index ask exactly $0.001, read 5 Nov 2026. This guide sets the index spread against the published fee lines.

## Start from what sellers ask

In Ora's index, read 5 Nov 2026, a quarter of priced entries ask $0.005 or less, the median asks $0.01, and a tenth ask more than $0.10. $0.01, $0.005 and $0.001 are the three most common exact prices. [The prices page](https://agentreadycheckout.com/pay-per-call/prices) has the full spread.

## Know the floors

- Coinbase charges nothing for the first 1,000 onchain facilitator transactions a month, then $0.001 each; verification is free. [docs.cdp.coinbase.com](https://docs.cdp.coinbase.com/x402/core-concepts/facilitator), read 4 Nov 2026.Published pricing
- Stripe charges 1.5 percent for stablecoin payments and $0.15 per SPT. [stripe.com](https://stripe.com/pricing), read 4 Nov 2026.Published pricing
- Stripe's machine payments page sets minimums of $0.50 for a card payment through a shared payment token and 0.01 USDC for stablecoins [docs.stripe.com](https://docs.stripe.com/payments/machine.md), read 4 Nov 2026.Published pricing
- x402.org lists zero protocol fees [x402.org](https://www.x402.org/), read 4 Nov 2026.Published pricing

## The arithmetic

Take the lines above at face value and the floor is plain. At $0.001 a call a $0.001 facilitator fee is all of the price once the free 1,000 a month are used; at the median of $0.01 it is 10%. A seller on the stablecoin path through Stripe pays 1.5 percent, which is under a thousandth of a dollar at any price below $0.06. The $0.15 per-token fee and the $0.50 card minimum mean the card path only suits calls priced well above the index median.

| Price per call | A $0.001 fee as a share of the price | 1.5% of the price, in dollars |
| --- | --- | --- |
| $0.001 | 100% | $0.000015 |
| $0.005 | 20% | $0.000075 |
| $0.01 | 10% | $0.00015 |
| $0.05 | 2% | $0.00075 |
| $0.10 | 1% | $0.0015 |

## Price by tag

Medians in the index sit at $0.01 for most of the biggest tags, and lower for finance ($0.005) and onchain ($0.005). One scanner is in the index too: Agent Ready lists an x402 scan at $0.02 a call. The tags below are the eight most common.

| Tag | Entries | Median price |
| --- | --- | --- |
| crypto | 752 | $0.01 |
| base | 338 | $0.01 |
| finance | 291 | $0.005 |
| data | 266 | $0.01 |
| market-data | 241 | $0.01 |
| compliance | 239 | $0.01 |
| security | 232 | $0.01 |
| defi | 226 | $0.01 |

## Before you set the number

1. Find the entries in your tag in [the tags page](https://agentreadycheckout.com/pay-per-call/by-tag) and read the median and the spread.
2. Subtract the fee line for your rail from your intended price; if nothing is left at the median, price higher.
3. Decide what buyers get if a call fails: [the chargebacks guide](https://agentreadycheckout.com/guides/chargebacks-when-an-agent-bought) covers disputes when an agent bought.
4. Publish the price where an agent can read it, and scan the domain again after the change.

## The check we recommend for a seller

The pay-layer check we recommend is [Ora](https://ora.ai/?utm_source=agentreadycheckout.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=paycall). After you change a price or a payment header, run its scan again. For the x402 check Ora's catalog says to return the PAYMENT-REQUIRED header and list paid resources at /discovery/resources, and for MPP to return a full WWW-Authenticate Payment challenge and advertise x-payment-info in the OpenAPI document ([GET /api/checks](https://ora.ai/api/checks?utm_source=agentreadycheckout.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=paycall), read 5 Nov 2026). Its command line client takes a --min-score flag that fails a build under a score you set ([llms.txt](https://ora.ai/llms.txt?utm_source=agentreadycheckout.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=paycall)).

Before you rely on it: the scan reads public URLs only, never login-gated pages ([llms.txt](https://ora.ai/llms.txt?utm_source=agentreadycheckout.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=paycall)); Ora shows no repeat-scan data in the pages we read, though it says two runs of one scan land within a couple of points ([its Deep Scan post](https://ora.ai/blog/introducing-deep-scan?utm_source=agentreadycheckout.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=paycall)); and its fixing product is waitlist-only ([ora.ai](https://ora.ai/?utm_source=agentreadycheckout.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=paycall)). How its six Payments checks map to the matrix is on [the Payments checks page](https://agentreadycheckout.com/method/ora-payments-layer), and the other scanners that test payments are on [the checkers page](https://agentreadycheckout.com/method/pay-layer-checkers).
