Which scanners test the pay layer
Five agent-readiness scanners publish payment checks, read on 5 Nov 2026: Ora, Is Agentic, Cloudflare's isitagentready, StartupHub and Agent Ready. Ora is the one we recommend for a seller or a merchant: its Payments layer has 6 checks over five protocols, with points published through GET /api/checks. The table gives what each scanner tests and how it scores it.
What each scanner tests
Each row below comes from the scanner's own page, fetched with one GET after its robots.txt was read. A scanner that publishes no payment check is not listed. Is Agentic runs on Ora's checks, so its row repeats Ora's.
| Scanner | Protocols tested | How payments are scored | What its page says, and the source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ora | x402, MPP, ACP, UCP, AP2 | A Payments layer of six checks worth 10 of 100 points, with the protocols scored as a group so one is enough | Ora's check catalog lists six Payments checks, all bonus checks marked verified, with 2 points each for x402 and MPP and 3 points each for UCP, ACP, ACP delegate payment and AP2. Its llms.txt says the five agentic-payment protocols are OR-scored and the others read as not applicable instead of failed. ora.ai, read 5 Nov 2026. |
| Is Agentic | x402, MPP, ACP, UCP, AP2 | Ora's payment checks, shown through a commerce site-type view | Its methodology page says Ora runs the scan and scores each layer, check and recommendation, and that a site-type view such as commerce changes which checks are required, bonus, gated or emerging without changing the score or the stored evidence. is-agentic.com, read 5 Nov 2026. |
| Cloudflare's isitagentready | x402, MPP, UCP, ACP, AP2 | Five commerce checks, scored only for sites with detected e-commerce signals; other sites are not scored on them | Its llms-full.txt lists x402, MPP, UCP, ACP and AP2 as checks 19 to 23 under Commerce, each with a pass criterion such as a /.well-known/ucp file with a protocol version and services, or an A2A Agent Card with an AP2 extension. isitagentready.com, read 5 Nov 2026. |
| StartupHub agent readiness | x402, MPP, AP2, ACP | One of six categories among 44 checks, with each protocol probed on its own | Its scanner page says the Commerce category verifies x402, MPP, AP2 or ACP discovery, Offer or Product markup with a price, a payment link from the homepage and whether a checkout or pricing path exists, and that a site with no paid endpoints is not penalised for MPP. It also says an agent with no key can pay $0.001 a scan over x402. startuphub.ai, read 5 Nov 2026. |
| Agent Ready | x402, MPP, AP2, ACP | Reported, not scored: its protocol series sits inside 72 checks, and its specs page says protocol checks are reported but unscored | Its specs page lists x402 with two checks, C10 for the 402 response and C11 for valid accepts entries, and MPP with C18 and C19; it labels ACP, MPP and AP2 pre-standard and says protocol checks are reported but unscored. agent-ready.dev, read 5 Nov 2026. |
Why Ora is the pick
The pay-layer check we recommend is Ora. Four reasons rest on the pages read for this table. It tests five protocols plus ACP delegate payment, six checks in all, and the catalog gives an id, points, a tier and a recommendation for each check, and a spec link for AP2 only. It scores the protocols as a group, so a site is not marked down for the ones it does not need; Cloudflare's scanner reaches the same end by scoring commerce checks only for sites with e-commerce signals. It publishes pass counts for every one of the checks, read from its own scans: UCP passes 3.7 percent of them and x402 0.15 percent (the adoption page). And a reader can run it free, with no key (ora.ai/pricing).
Limits that stay in view: Ora reads public URLs only and cannot score a login-gated checkout (llms.txt); it says the same scan converges within a couple of points and the pages we read publish no repeat-scan data; its product that fixes what a scan finds is behind a waitlist. Its Payments layer tests five of the matrix's 12 protocols, so the card-network programs need another check. Another scanner covers ground outside Ora's six Payments checks: StartupHub's commerce category also looks at Offer markup with a price, a payment link from the homepage and a checkout or pricing path.
How to use the table
Run Ora on the domain, then read the five protocol rows against the Payments checks page. If the site sells to shoppers, check it against the matrix cells for your platform on the decision guide. Re-run after each change: a protocol the matrix says is live on your platform still has to show up on your domain.
