- Visa Core Rules October 2026 edition names agent provider login IDs in 10.4 evidence
The 24 Oct 2026 Visa Core Rules keep the April agentic platform requirements (section 4.1.23) and update Dispute Condition 10.4 invalid-dispute evidence (section 11.8.5.3, last updated Oct 2026). - Walmart announces Agent Profiles, an MCP Agent Gateway beta and terms for AI agents
Walmart will let customers authorise each AI agent with its own profile inside their account, with approval on every purchase or a customer-set spending limit. - Mastercard opens Agent Pay for Machines Early Access after pilots including Coinbase
At Cloudflare Connect, Mastercard opened Early Access to Agent Pay for Machines, giving developers APIs, tools and documentation, after end-to-end pilots with Cloudflare, Ant International, AIsa, Base, BVNK, Coinbase and Hype. - Shopify Checkout MCP and Cart MCP add UCP buyer consent
Shopify's changelog says its Checkout MCP and Cart MCP servers now support the UCP buyer consent capability. - Google Universal Cart launches in the US across Search and Gemini

Crossmint launched a live, self-serve toolkit combining a PCI vault, Visa Intelligent Commerce and Mastercard Agent Pay tokenized credentials for eligible cards, and checkout at online stores via Shop Pay, UCP or browser automation. - BigCommerce opens Google UCP checkout as early access

- Mastercard adds trust and intelligence services to Agent Pay, working with Skyfire and Cloudflare
Mastercard expanded Agent Pay with services that give issuers and merchants context on AI-initiated transactions. The first, a probability score that a transaction was AI-initiated, is rolling out for testing in the US. - PayOS opens every product, including agentic payments, through a self-serve portal
PayOS said all its products, covering card, bank, business and identity data plus agentic payments, are available through its self-serve portal, following a 27 Sep 2026 portal launch. - x402 specification adds an exact scheme for Bitcoin Lightning
The x402 Foundation merged an exact payment scheme for Lightning (lnbtc) into the x402 specification on 23 Sep 2026 (PR #2861), alongside exact schemes for EVM, Solana, XRPL, Stellar and other networks. - PayPal announces checkout partnership with Meta's MuseTrade press

Meta launched Muse in the US on iOS, Android and muse.ai. - PayOS and Browserbase partner so browser agents can pay on any website
PayOS and Browserbase announced a partnership pairing PayOS agent payment credentials with Browserbase's hosted browsers, so agents can reach websites and complete payment with scoped tokens instead of raw card numbers. - UCP forms a Payments Technical Council with Shopify among members
UCP announced a Payments Technical Council with Adyen, Ant International, Coinbase, Global Payments, Google, PayPal, Shopify and Stripe as inaugural members.

- Shopify Storefront MCP cart tools reach end of maintenance
Shopify said the deprecated get_cart and update_cart tools on the Storefront MCP server would be maintained until 31 August 2026; the replacement is UCP Cart MCP at /api/ucp/mcp implementing the UCP cart capability. - UCP release 2026-08-25 adds 3DS2 and multi-vertical refactor
UCP published protocol version 2026-08-25 with a multi-vertical refactor, 3DS2 payments security and grocery readiness. Shopify's agent docs show sample agent profiles declaring this version. - commercetools adds storefront, delivery estimate and carrier fields for agentic checkout
commercetools made storefront URLs, estimated delivery and carrier names standard Cart and Order fields, noting these were commonly modelled as Custom Fields for agentic or headless checkout. - Amazon Conditions of Use carry Agent Terms requiring agents to self-identify
Amazon's Conditions of Use, last updated 14 Aug 2026, include Agent Terms: any software acting for a person must identify itself in every HTTP request with the user agent 'Agent/[agent name]'.
