Google Pay
In short
When a shopper buys through UCP in Google's AI Mode or the Gemini app, this wallet supplies the payment step, using a handler named com.google.pay. The merchant publishes its settings, the platform requests an encrypted token, and the token goes to the merchant's own processor, not Google. Chewy and The Home Depot already run it live in their UCP profiles.

What it does not do
- Google Pay does not settle the payment; the encrypted credential goes to the merchant's own PSP.
- Google Pay's UCP checkout does not yet use network tokens or other payment types per Google's help page; it uses cards saved in Google Wallet.
